About Me
Bianca here (@bnighrogain on Twitter). E-mail: bianca.grogan@gmail.com
I am a primary school teacher on a career break from Griffeen Valley Educate Together National School (@gvetns) and am currently doing a PhD researching educational technology at Dublin City University @Dublincityuni.
I trained as a teacher at Froebel College of Education, Blackrock (who are now the Froebel Primary Education Dept, Maynooth University). I am big into the maker-movement and the concept of inventing to learn, which undoubtedly stems from the student-centered training I received at Froebel. A place that taught me to nurture the imaginations and creativity of students, encouraging children to become an active agent in his/her own learning.
Having attending Gael Scoil Inse Chór and Coláiste Chiliain, I have and still use my cúpla focail so abair hello.
I am passionate about social justice and do some work as a Rights Sparks tutor with @AmnestyIreland. Rights Sparks is a free CPD courses in Human Rights Education for teachers, check it out – http://www.amnesty.ie/rightssparks.
